I started dancing at the age of seven; my mother believed in keeping her children busy. What is that old saying “idle hands…” Over the years I have studied tap, ballet, folk (I can actually do a Schottische!), modern jazz, salsa, contemporary dance with Loyce Houlton at The Minnesota Dance Theatre, and was a student of African dance for 10 years.

After raising children and totally neglecting myself for many years, I realized that there was something missing in my life. With the idea of getting some much needed exercise, I decided to look into an Adult Education class; I spotted a Belly Dance class, was smitten and I never looked back.

I continue to study with my Banat El Kamar instructors: Annette Bujold, Mary West, Suzanne D’Souza, Nancy Mikrut, and Erin Wallace, as well as Kathy McCurdy, Sarah Jones-Larson, and Cassandra of the Cassandra School. I am extremely interested in the styles of Urban Gypsy and Fat Chance Belly Dance, but I, also, enjoy Mahmoud Reda, East Coast Tribal, and continue to participate in as many African dance seminars as possible though tribal is my heart and I enjoy the sisterhood of dancing with my TNT partners. I have been a member of TNT since 2008.
